I can confidently say that I’ve always been a connector, especially of women, and have done my best to create an environment of empowerment everywhere I go.
It's fitting then, that the motto for the first company I founded was “Strong Women Uplift Each Other”: That enterprise was Uplift, a progressive fitness studio and female society I began in 2012 that offered group classes, personal training and a multitude of events outside of fitness related to career, relationships, finances, and well-being (panels, retreats, workshops) that empowered women in all aspects of their lives. I closed Uplift's doors in 2019 to focus on the bigger picture of female empowerment, through my writing, speaking, and consulting work.
Before conceiving the idea for Uplift, I was a professional writer: I'm the author of The Perfect Manhattan and Cocktail Therapy: The Perfect Prescription for Life’s Many Crises, and my writing has also been featured in The Nation, The New York Times, New York magazine, and Glamour, among others.
I graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and received a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and Cultural Politics from New York University.
My superpowers include sales (everything in life is sales!), grit and hustle, masterful people-connection, constant ideas and partnership generation, and female empowerment...if I haven't mentioned that already.
